Yes. Legally you must complete a Notice of Intended Marriage and give it to your celebrant at least one month before your wedding day. We'll make an appointment to meet both of you on location when we contact you.

We'll ask you to bring your birth certificates or passports, plus your licenses. We'll also fulfill our legal obligations by getting you a brochure from the government and individually confirm if either of you are being coerced.

Absolutely! We encourage you to do so. Telling your partner what you love about them and why you're looking forward to sharing the rest of your lives together adds to the romance of the day.

We provide a display certificate on the day. We then submit the relevant paperwork to Brisbane Birth, Deaths and Marriages the day after your wedding. They will contact you directly about 2 weeks after your wedding to notify you that the official certificate is available for purchase. The cost of the certificate is additional to the cost of your wedding and is paid directly to Brisbane BDM.
